Good to know
Located on Hawai'i's Big Island (the island of Hawai'i) 25 minutes south of Hilo International Airport. The house has been setup as two luxury oceanfront condos. Pele's Paradise is a 2 Bedroom 1 bath condo within the owners home that takes up the ground floor so guests have direct access to the ocean! The Owners of the home occasionally stay in the upstairs condo when they visit a few times per year. The two units are completely private from each other and do not share any spaces. We do not rent out any other spaces on the property. Pele's Paradise is a 2 Bedroom 1 bath rental with a full kitchen. Each bedroom has a Queen size bed with new, high quality mattresses and the pullout couch in the living room is also a Queen size. Beautiful furnishings, designed by NestEgg Designs, make the experience on the other side of your keypad protected private entrance as memorable as the coastal treasures provided by nature. The chef-inspired kitchen with new stainless steel appliances is stocked with all the cooking utensils, pots, pans and dishes needed to cook delicious seaside meals. Serve your culinary delights with a side of paradise in a dining area with panoramic ocean views and a sliding door that opens up to the lanai. For a complete oceanfront dining experience, pull up a chair on the lanai dining table or gather around the outdoor seating area. Allow the Hawaiian sea breeze to accompany your views of the beautiful lava rock cliffs and black sands of your paradise retreat. There are two comfortable and stylish bedrooms from which to choose. The first bedroom features ocean views, a queen bed, walk-in closet, ceiling fan, dimmable reading lights and air conditioning. The second bedroom has ocean views, a queen bed, walk-in closet, ceiling fan, dimmable reading lights, air conditioning and an office desk for your dedicated workspace. Freshening up is a joy in the well-appointed bathroom featuring soft towels, hairdryer, toiletries including (Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash) and other travel amenities like sunscreen and bug spray for your beach excursions and rainforest hikes. Pele's Paradise Amenities include: Free WiFi. WiFi mesh system covers the entire property in case you want to work outside on the beautiful lanai, Outdoor lounge area, Outdoor dining area, Dedicated workspace (desk), Air conditioner and dehumidifier, free Parking, stainless steel refrigerator, 4 burner stove, microwave, convection oven, cooking utensils, pots, pans, dishes, Smart TV, Comfortable mattresses, Washer and Dryer in separate laundry room, Contactless check-in, boogie/body surfing boards, beach towels and a cooler for your beach excursions. House Rules
Please take care of the furnishings Because we are so close to the ocean, we get a lot of salt spray from the crashing waves. Salt is highly corrosive to metals, electronics, etc. We ask that you leave the doors and windows to the unit closed as much as possible both for your comfort and the protection of everyone's personal property. We highly recommend that you use the outdoor lights sparingly as they will attract insects. We have some beach supplies in the laundry room for your beach excursions (beach towels, cooler, body boards and beach chairs). Please take good care of them, clean them and remove any sand before bringing them back into the house. Please replace them if they are damaged or lost if possible or let us know immediately so we can make sure we have these things available and ready for the next guests. We have a First Aid kit in the bathroom for any minor emergencies and a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink. All trash and recycling goes into the trash bins on the side of the house. The trash company will separate. Please tie closed all trash bags completely. The only thing that is recycled separately is bottles and cans with the HI 5 cent label on back. Those can be put in a separate bag for recycling and left outside next to the trash bins. Check out is anytime before 11am. For checkout, please tie all trash bags completely closed and put them in the trash bins on the side of the house, do the dishes or start the dishwasher, pile all used towels, bedding and linens in front of the washing machine, lock all doors and windows and turn off the A/C unit. Please note late checkouts are not allowed as we are often fully booked with reservations. The housekeepers arrive at 11am to clean the unit. You are expected to be completely off the property by 11am. We automatically charge a $150 late checkout fee at 11:01am and charge a full nights stay at our highest rates at 1:01pm if anyone from your reservation is still on the property after checkout time. Do not go upstairs. Upstairs is for the Host only. Violation of any of the above that results in additional costs will be billed to the guests, including but not limited to: noise complaint fines, excessive cleaning services, repair costs for damaged items. Guests agree to pay additional fees within 72 hours of checkout. House Rules: Quiet Hours are 9pm to 7am No shoes in the house. This is common throughout Hawai'i. No Parties or Events allowed. No outside guests. No visitors. Please take care of the furnishings. Do not move the furniture. Please keep the doors and windows closed at all times for two reasons. 1. The salt spray from the ocean is highly corrosive and will destroy your electronics and anything metal in no time including the appliances in the rental. 2. We can go from a beautiful sunny day to torrential sideways rain in no time! You will want the doors and windows closed when this happens. Please turn the Air Conditioning/Dehumidifier off when you leave and when you are not using it. Hawaii has the highest electricity rates in the country, so please help with this! Our entire property is a non-smoking environment. If you need to smoke, please smoke outside the front gate near the street and dispose of your cigarettes afterward in the trash can. Please take care of the furnishings. Do not move any of the furniture or rocks on the property. Please turn the Air Conditioning off when you leave and when you are not using it. Hawaii has the highest electricity rates in the country, so please help with this! For your safety and security we have 24 hour security and one (1) camera on the property facing the outside perimeter of the house so we can see if any unauthorized people enter the property. No cameras face the interior of the house. Per AirBnB rules, there are no cameras inside the house. Tampering with or shutting off the security camera is not allowed and can end your reservation. If you fail to leave the Accommodation by the agreed check-out time, you may be held liable for the business impact and damages. Beginning one-hour after the agreed check-out time, we have the right, if you have not left the Accommodation by such time, to charge you two (2) times the average nightly rate of your Reservation, and again every twenty-four (24) hours of your overstay until you vacate the Accommodation. Violation of any of the above that results in additional costs will be billed to the guests, including but not limited to: noise complaint fines, excessive cleaning services, repair costs for damaged items. Guests agree to pay additional fees within 72 hours of checkout. Please note that we expect all guests to follow all rules at all times. We are willing to enforce all rules up to and including ending the reservation.
Other Details to Note
All of the Big Island is rural and therefore can have the sounds of coqui frogs and roosters (they are wild throughout Hawaii) at night. Our retreat backs up to the ocean so most of these sounds will not bother you here. This is a hosted rental meaning per Hawaiian law there is a host that lives in a separate unit on site. They are available for tourism advice, restaurant recommendations, maintenance needs or anything else that may arise.
